Wikipedia to shut down on Wednesday to protest anti-online piracy legislation that may be Trojan horse threat to free speech

Although I depend on Wikipedia for my film history research, I’m a bit leery of any legislation that gives the government control of onlune-content in the name of something else.   

The Hill reports Wikipedia will black out on Wednesday to protest two controversial Internet piracy bills, founder Jimmy Wales announced Monday.

"Student warning! Do your homework early. Wikipedia protesting bad law on Wednesday," Wales wrote in a Tweet.

The protest will apply only to the English version of the popular online encyclopedia and will last for 24 hours.

Wales estimated that the English Wikipedia receives about 25 million visits per day, but he said the site could receive even more visits during the blackout due to the publicity.

Wikipedia is the sixth most-visited website in the world, according to Web information company

Caught in the act: FedEx driver caught throwing computer monitor over a fence

You don’t want this FedEx guy delivering your package!

Daily Mail reports FedEx has vowed to track down the deliveryman who was caught on video carelessly tossing a computer monitor over a fence during a delivery.

Company spokeswoman Shea Leordeanu would not say what would become of the employee once they find him, but added: 'This won't be his best day.'

The hilariously sad clip of a FedEx delivery man chucking the computer monitor has attracted nearly 200,000 viewers on YouTube in a single day, many of whom expressed fears that their holiday packages would be treated with the same regard.

In The Peoples Republic of California: Utility company (PG&E) says customers will go without electricity unless a “smart meter” is installed

Smart Meters which allows a public utility to control how much electricity they think your suppose to consume is the biggest threat to liberty in the nation.

If government feels that 62 degrees of temperature is warm enough for your home in the dead of winter, with smart meters, you become powerless to turn up the heat in your private home! The same will be true in the summer when the heat is sweltering, you will no longer have the ability to cool your homes to your liking because the government decides that for you.

That’s how serious this issue is and people better wake up to what’s happening. I purposefully referred to California as the Peoples Republic of California because it’s a state run amok by Democrats who don’t give a rip about individual freedom and believe big government is the solution for all our problems.

Gateway Pundit reports the Smart Grid in the United States is an ongoing collaboration between the Federal Government and the Power Companies. As more and more people wake up to the threat to their privacy that the Smart Grid represents, people are doing the only thing they can and fighting it on a local level.

Earlier this week, I wrote an article describing how some PG&E customers, who removed their Smart Meter and replaced it with an analog by a liscensed professional electrician, have had their power shut off.
On December 13th in California, the Santa Cruz Board of Supervisors grilled Wendy Sarsfield, a representative from the public utility PG&E, as to why they will not restore power to those customers who have had their PG&E Smart Meters replaced with an analog meter.

During the exchange, that resembled a combination of a dog chasing it’s tail and shooting fish in a barrel, Wendy kept insisting that saftey was the main issue for which power was not restored to the homeowners. Upon hearing this, Board Member after Board Member seemed to come up with a viable, workable solution, but it was always unacceptable to the PG&E Rep.

After several minutes where the PG&E Rep began sounding like a broken record while refusing to come to any reasonable solution about restoring power to people’s homes (One of which was just to add people to the delay list and reinstall an analog meter until the California Public Utilites Commission-CPUC- finished creating an opt out program), one Board Member cut to the chase (Begins around the 5:00 Mark):


I live in New York which is just as bad as California. So far I haven’t heard anything about smart meters being installed here. But, whatever goes on in Lib crazy California eventually winds up here.

Jesse Jackson: ‘Jesus Was an Occupier’

Somebody ought to tell Jesse that Jesus was a Savior not an occupier.


The Blaze reports Rev. Jesse Jackson told a crowd of Occupy London protesters that they’re in good company as their demonstrations stretch past the two-month mark, because Jesus was an Occupier as well.

“Jesus was an Occupier, born under a death warrant, a Jew by religion, born in poverty under Roman occupation,” Jackson told the 200-person crowd in front of St. Paul’s Cathedral Thursday, MSNBC reported. ”Gandhi was an Occupier, Martin Luther King was an Occupier, [Nelson] Mandela was an Occupier.”

'Tebowing' Gets Riverhead Students Suspended

Don’t these kids know that their Lib school administrators expect them to emulate the anti-Semitic atheists protestors at Occupy Wall Street instead of God-fearing Tim Tebow?

Riverhead Patch reports announcement of a simple one-day suspension for four student-athletes at Riverhead High School went viral on Thursday as news broke that the students — who administrators say were creating an unsafe environment by blocking the halls — were emulating one of the most talked-about athletes in America over the past two weeks: Tim Tebow.

In an act known as "Tebowing" — according to Tebowing.com, "to get down on a knee and start praying, even if everyone else around you is doing something completely different" — the foursome was part of a larger group seen in a YouTube video kneeling in the halls of the school. One of the students told Yahoo! it was "out of respect for Tebow, and because 'Tebowing' is the new thing to do."



Superintendent Nancy Carney released the following statement via email: "It’s wonderful that our students look up to sports heroes such as Mr. Tebow, but we can’t allow students to create unsafe situations in school. Students cannot block hallways and prevent other students from getting to class. A couple of students who were spoken to previously did not heed to the warning given by administrators, and they were disciplined accordingly.

Texas Model Lauren Scrubbs suffers horrific injuries after walking into spinning plane propeller hand amputated

I don’t understand how something like this could happen. But, I wish Lauren all the best!


The Daily Mail reports model and fashion blogger Lauren Scrubbs is beginning to learn the extent of the horrific, life-changing injuries she sustained after walking into a spinning airplane propeller and has even been able to utter a few words since surgery.

The 23-year-old - who sustained graphic wounds to her head and shoulder and underwent emergency surgery to have her hand amputated - is beginning to come to terms with what happened to her as she recovers in ICU surrounded by her family.

A spokeswoman said on the weblog Caring Bridge set up in her honour: 'As Lauren begins to wake up, she is learning the extent of her injuries.'

'Brittany (her twin sister) was able to explain to her that she was in an accident, sustaining multiple injuries. She seemed to acknowledge what Brittany explained and confirmed it with a hand squeeze.

'She is able to open her right eye to see while her left eye is still bandaged. Please continue to pray for the vision of her left eye, as we will not know the status of her sight for some time,' stated the website.
It also revealed that when the doctor asked the 23-year-old what her name was, she was able to say 'Lauren'.

According to RadarOnline, Lynn Lunsford, Mid-States Public Affairs Manager with the Federal Aviation Administration,said that an integral part of the investigation into exactly what happened is why the propeller was still moving when Scruggs got off the plane.


'It appears that the pilot left the engine running at idle while she exited the plane to switch places with another passenger. That's one of the aspects of the investigation,' she told RadarOnline.


The pilot has not yet been identified but he is thought to have been a friend of Lauren's and recently purchased the plane.

The 23-year-old, from the suburban area of Plano in Dallas, was taken to the Parkland Memorial Hospital where her devout Christian family, including her mother Cheryl, father Jeff and twin sister Brittany, gathered at her bedside.


A close family friend, who wished to remain anonymous, told MailOnline: 'I don't know anyone more gracious and sincere than Lauren. She always puts her family and friends first and everyone just flocks to her.


'But if there was someone who could make the best of this situation and come out on top, then she can.'


Family friend Janee Harrell said: 'Speaking for the entire Scruggs family, your prayers are greatly appreciated and felt every moment.

All-white Gulnare Free Will Baptist Church forced to throw out ban on interracial couples as 'it defied equality laws'

Unfortunately, we still have bad pastors that misinterpret what the Bible teaches.

The Daily Mail reports an all-white church in America's rural South that banned interracial couples from its services went against equality guidelines, a church association has ruled.

Members of the Gulnare Free Will Baptist Church in Kentucky voted for the ban last week, saying it 'does not condone interracial marriage'.

But the Freewill Baptist Association has overruled the ban, saying it goes against organisation guidelines to follow state and federal equality laws.

Greedy union local may push B. Smith restaurant to close its doors

Usually the Left loves to portray corporations as greedy to sell their class warfare rhetoric. But, The Blaze reports that New York’s Local #1 that owns buildings on restaurant row in the Theater District can be just as greedy themselves.

Barbara Smith, a famous model and “lifestyle entrepreneur,” started her B. Smith’s restaurant in 1986 in a New York neighborhood that, at the time, was “better known for junkies and hookers.” Since opening her Southern-inspired dining establishment, she helped reestablish the city’s Theater District as a popular and profitable tourist attraction.

However, some recent and unexpected financial issues have her wondering whether she should just close shop. See, Local 1 of the stagehands runs the building she has leased for the last 11 years on Restaurant Row–and they want to increase the rent 350 percent — from around $13,500 a month to about $50,000, going up to $60,000 a month within five years.

Occupy Wall Street Leader prefers at $700-a-night hotel than Zuccotti Park

While Occupy Wall Street protesters froze in tents, their leaders were nice and cozy in $700 a night W Hotel.  How will the useful idiots feel about that?

 I thought the 99% were all in it together?  I often say that Liberals lie through their teeth about everything.  And so we have the hypocrisy of a OWS leader that felt it was beneath him to stay with his comrades in the elements at Zuccotti Park.  No body-lice for him, thank you very much.  That’s something the useful idiots to deal with.  The W Hotel was much more preferable with 37inch flat screen TVs and room service at the ready. 

Sounds like this OWS leader was really living like the 1% he supposedly protesting against.  Surprised?  Why should you be because this whole movement is a manufactured spectacle run by the Democrat Party.

Fake Doctor, Fake butt, Fake Woman: Transgendered Freak Oneal Ron Morris busted for injecting homemade butt implants

What strikes me as funny about this story is how the media reports it as just a medical procedure gone bad without any kind of social commentary about the man acting as a fake doctor who now is masquerading as a woman.

Looking at his or her picture, it’s obvious that there’s something physically way out of whack with this person. To list this story under bizarre would be an understatement. But, like the old expression goes, “If the butt looks too outrageous to be true, it usually not even a woman.”

Liberals are the champions of sex changes because it’s all about “feelings”. If a man feels like he should’ve been a woman, “Hey, no problem! Go get a sex change, “says Liberals as if it’s a normal thing to do.

Well, it isn’t normal, it’s an abomination. And Oneal Ron Morris didn’t want to keep his warped mind to himself and went into business as a fake physician with Super Glue.

Oneal Ron Morris was arrested Friday after allegedly injecting a woman with a combination of cement, mineral oil, tire sealant and super glue for a buttocks-enhancing procedure. Morris, pictured, is a transgendered man had who tried the procedure on himself.

Finally! Occupy Wall Steet Kicked out of Zuccotti Park by NYPD

The lice infected dregs that want to tear down our American capitalist system into a socialist paradise have been evicted from Zuccotti Park. The move is reported to be temporary although it said that they won’t be allowed to return with their tents.




That means no sleeping in the park!

Hundreds of New York City police officers cleared Zuccotti Park of the Occupy Wall Street protesters early Tuesday, arresting dozens of people there after warning them that the nearly two-month-old camp would be “cleared and restored” before the morning and that any demonstrator who did not leave would be arrested.


The protesters, about 200 of whom have been staying in the park overnight, initially resisted with chants of “Whose park? Our park!” as officers began moving in and tearing down tents. The protesters rallied around an area known as the kitchen, near the middle of the park and began building barricades with tables and pieces of scrap wood.

Over the next two hours, dozens of protesters left the park, while a core group of about 100 dug in around the food area. Many locked arms and defied police orders to leave. By 3 a.m., dozens of helmet-clad officers, watched over by Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly, closed in on the remaining protesters. They pulled them out one protester at a time and handcuffed them. Most were walked out without incident.

You remember Jesse Jackson, do you, he was Bill Clinton’s moral advisor during the Monica Lewinsky affair. Allegations at the time surfaced that Jackson himself was also having an affair with a female staffer producing a love child.

This allegations turned out to be true and Jackson has never recovered as the preeminent black leader in the Democrat Party. Now, he has to share the title with Al Sharpton.

Now comes some more disturbing allegations from another one of Jackson’s staffers. But, this time it’s a Gay man.

Could Jesse Jackson be a “down low brother”?


The Blaze reports that Tommy R. Bennett, a former employee of civil rights leader Jesse Jackson, has filed a discrimination and wrongful termination complaint against the reverend. Bennett, who is gay, was the National Director of Community Affairs at Jackson’s Rainbow PUSH Coalition. Jackson, 55, also serves on President Obama’s LGBT Leadership Council.
The complaint, as NBC Chicago reports, ”includes shocking allegations about Jackson’s behavior toward the openly gay staffer including an allegation that the civil rights leader propositioned him.”

According to NBC Chicago:
Bennett, 55, claims Jackson ridiculed him in front of other employees and required him to perform “humiliating tasks” like escorting women to Jackson’s various hotel rooms, cleaning up after alleged trysts and packing his clothing. It also includes an allegation that Jackson asked for oral sex, according to the claim. Jackson flatly denied each claim in his response.

The Windy City Times has more on the allegations:
Things reached an apex later in 2008, when Bennett says he “was summoned to Rev. Jackson’s hotel room” at the Hilton Chicago O’Hare Airport Hotel. Bennett claims that he was eventually instructed to apply cream to Jackson, who “had a rash between his legs.” Bennett says that he refused, resulting in Jackson allegedly calling Bennett a “little motherfucker.”

Bennett then states that another time at the same hotel, Jackson summoned him at 1 a.m. to take notes. The complaint states, “When Mr. Bennett arrived, Rev. Jackson was dressed only in his briefs and a v-neck t-shirt.” Bennett alleges Jackson was sexually excited. Asked by Windy City Times how he came to this conclusion, Bennett said, “I could tell by his look. His whole demeanor had changed. His breathing pattern had changed.”

Texas gun teacher Crockett Keller ad: Muslims need not apply

I think this ad is pretty funny. Can’t we have a sense of humor with PC getting in the way?

On a YouTube clip that has gone viral, brash Texas handgun instructor Crockett Keller defiantly tells Muslims and non-Christian Arabs he won't teach them how to handle a firearm.


State officials see the ad as possible discrimination, and may revoke Keller's instructor license.


Tens of thousands of YouTube viewers have watched the $175 ad for Keller's business in the small community of Mason, which has won him a handful of admirers but that embarrassed locals say misrepresents their community. Muslim groups dismissed the 65-year-old as a bigot.

"Field of Dreams" property in Iowa sold

Field of Dreams is defiantly one of my favorite films because I love baseball so much. But, even if you’re not fond of the fame, there’s something about the movie that touches so many people.

The sprawling eastern Iowa cornfields made famous by the movie "Field of Dreams" are being sold to a company that will preserve the site's baseball legacy, the owners announced Sunday.

Don and Becky Lansing said they have accepted an offer from Mike and Denise Stillman and their company, Go the Distance Baseball LLC, which will develop the site near Dyersville as a baseball and softball complex. A purchase price was not disclosed.

"We worked hard to maintain its wholesome allure, and our success says a lot about our nation's love affair with its national pastime," Becky Lansing said in a statement. "It truly is a special place."

The land has been in Don Lansing's family since 1906. The couple put the property up for sale at $5.4 million in May 2010. The parcel includes the two-bedroom house, baseball diamond, six other buildings and 193 acres — mostly cornfields — from the movie.

Historic Snowfall Cuts Power to Millions: Global Warming Nuts are salivating

You know within days they’ll articles by scientists or wacky environmentalists sounding the alarm that we need to cut back on our carbon emissions. But, if by some chance the thermometer hit 90 degrees across the North East the caterwauling would be the same.




How about this theory.

A snowstorm with a ferocity more familiar in February than October socked the Northeast over the weekend, knocking out power to 2.3 million, snarling air and highway travel and dumping more than 2 feet of snow in a few spots as it slowly moved north out of New England. Officials warned it could be days before many see electricity restored.

The combination of heavy, wet snow, leaf-laden trees and frigid, gusting winds brought down limbs and power lines. At least three deaths were blamed on the weather, and states of emergency were declared in New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts and parts of New York.

"If you are without power, you should expect to be without power for a prolonged period of time," Connecticut Gov. Dannel P. Malloy said Saturday night.

The storm worsened as it moved north, and communities in western Massachusetts were among the hardest hit. Snowfall totals topped 27 inches in Plainfield, and nearby Windsor had gotten 26 inches by early Sunday.

Catholic University's Muslim Students Should Have Prayer Rooms Without Crucifix, Complaint States

Catholic University needs to hang tough behind their 1st amendment rights. If Muslims students are offended by Christian symbols, the doors are wide open for them to find another college.

A law school professor has filed a complaint with the District of Columbia Office of Human Rights, alleging that Catholic University of America, a private institution, discriminates against Muslim students.

John F. Banzhaf III claims the school "[denies Muslim students] equal access to the benefits CUA provides to other student groups," according to a press release, posted on PRLog.

The professor's allegations stem from the school's failure to give formal recognition to a Muslim Association, although its law school recognizes a Jewish association, according to theThe Tower, Catholic University's school newspaper.

In addition, Banzhaf says it is unfair that Catholic University does not provide its Muslim students with separate prayer rooms to conduct their daily rituals without being surrounded by religious insignia, such as crucifixes, the press release states.

In a 2010 interview with National Public Radio, University president John Garvey openly admitted that there are no rooms "exclusively" reserved for Muslim prayer, but explained that various spaces are made available for the students, Fox News points out.


But that's not good enough, Banzhaf says. The press release states:

...It is alleged that CUA does not provide space -- as other universities do -- for the many daily prayers Muslim students must make, forcing them instead to find temporarily empty classrooms where they are often surrounded by Catholic symbols which are incongruous to their religion. Furthermore, it appears that Muslims on campus may even be forced to do their meditation in the school's chapels or in the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception – hardly places where students of a very different religion are likely to feel very comfortable.

Video: South Africa Bans Axe Deodorant's 'Sexy Angels' Ad For Offending Christians

Christianity is frequently mocked and made the butt of jokes and/or insults around the world unlike any other religious faith. My only complaint over the years is that Islam should get their “fair share” of being the object of ridicule like we are. But that never seems to happen.

Having said all this, I find nothing wrong with this commercial that was banned in South Africa. Biblically literate Christians already know that real angels don’t have wings let alone look like Kate Moss or Eva Mendez. Angels look like ordinary people which is why the Bible teaches to treat strangers kindly because they can be God’s angels among us.

South Africa has banned an angel-themed Axe deodorant ads, saying they're offensive to Christians.


The commercial for the deodorant, which is known as Lynx in South Africa, depicts angels -- who are young and sexy, obvi -- falling from heaven to a town in Italy because they are attracted to a man's deodorant.


In the ad's final scene, the angels with smokin' bodies smash their halos, willing to abdicate their heavenly thrones to get closer to the dude who's wearing Axe. "Excite, the new fragrance from Axe. Even angels will fall," intones the voiceover.


But at least one Christian viewer refused to come under the spell of Axe's preternatural allure, reports the Daily Mail:
