After a week of flapping his gums saying the New York Jets were the best football team in New York, Rex Ryan is eating some good ole’ crow for Christmas.

The first half belonged to the Jets with a 7-3 lead. Jets fans were cheering and their foot-fetisher head coach, Rex Ryan, was looking very pleased. But, with the Giants on their own goal line, Elie Manning flicked off an 11 yard pass to WR Victor Cruz who ran the ball for a 99 yard touchdown.



Momentum shifted to the Giants and it was all she wrote. Giants win 29-14 and will play the Cowboys next week for the division title. And the Jets and Rex have to like their wounds, again!

Hurd cut by Bears amid drug charge, free on bond-Drug Tracking case could rock NFL

This case could blows the doors off the NFL which is America’s most popular sport.

CBS News reports the attorney for Sam Hurd said Friday that his client had never sold drugs to other NFL players, hoping to put any rumors to rest as the wide receiver without a team prepares to fight federal drug charges.

Less than an hour after Hurd was cut by the Chicago Bears, defense attorney Brett Greenfield told reporters that his client planned to fight the charges and wanted one thing made clear.

"Sam has asked me to address one point, with respect to the rumors that Sam has been supplying drugs to other members of the NFL, out of respect to the NFL, out of respect to teammates and out of respect to other players, he 100 percent denies that allegation," Greenfield said. "It is patently and totally false. It just didn't happen."

A law enforcement source told CBS Radio's 670 The Score that Hurd was a top drug dealer in Chicago and police have a list "in the double-digits" of NFL players who were supplied drugs by the receiver.


League spokesman Brian McCarthy said the NFL was closely monitoring the situation. Asked about a report that authorities have a list of NFL players with ties to the drug case, McCarthy said: "We are not aware of such a list."

Writer for New York-The Jewish Week suffers from Tim Tebow Derangement Syndrome

The Left loves to throw “phobias” in our faces when it comes to their protected groups (i.e. Gays = Homophobia, Muslims = Islamophobia) and so. But, when it comes to bashing the Christian faith, Liberals have no problem being Christiophobes.

Rabbi Joshua Hammerman writing for The Jewish Week has a problem:

“I’ve got a Tim Tebow problem.


I want to root for the guy, but I’m afraid of what will happen if the hulky Denver Bronco quarterback continues to pull off what is fast becoming the Greatest Gridiron Story Ever Told. Since taking over as starting quarterback earlier this season, the Heisman winning national champion from the University of Florida has been winning consistently and dramatically, in the final minutes of the game or overtime, relying on powerful legs rather than his infamously erratic arm and confounding skeptical fans along with the Bronco management, who, it is said, were hoping he would fail.

A poster boy of the Christian right, Tebow steadfastly thanks Jesus after every game and, while in college, often inscribed biblical messages on his eye paint. Homeschooled in Florida, this child of missionaries turned down his selection as a Playboy All American because it was, well, Playboy.”

He continues: “If Tebow wins the Super Bowl, against all odds, it will buoy his faithful, and emboldened faithful can do insane things, like burning mosques, bashing gays and indiscriminately banishing immigrants. While America has become more inclusive since Jerry Falwell’s first political forays, a Tebow triumph could set those efforts back considerably.”

CFL Football rivals Joe Kapp and Angelo Mosca brawl 48 years after incident

The Sporting News reports Joe Kapp was combative when he played quarterback in the U.S. and Canada in the '60s. No surprise, then, that he'd mix it up at age 73 with a guy he's held a grudge against for almost 50 years.

Kapp showed he can still throw 'em when he decked Angelo Mosca, a foe from their CFL days, during a joint appearance last week in Vancouver. Kapp never forgave the 74-year-old Mosca for knocking Kapp teammate Willie Fleming out of the 1963 Grey Cup game with a questionable hit. Mosca’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats went on to beat Kapp’s British Columbia Lions, 21-10.
