Pat Robertson and Bob Beckel blasts 'SNL'/Tim Tebow skit as act of 'bigotry'

When you have conservative and liberal commentators both agree on an issue, you know it’s a genuine backlash. I thought the SNL skit was pretty disgusting.

The Sporting News reports In the skit Jesus, played by SNL's Jason Sudeikis, visits the Denver Broncos' locker room following another dramatic victory and tells an overeager Tebow, played by Taran Killam, to "not be in everyone's face about" his faith. Sudeikis' Jesus also tells the Tebow character to study the team's playbook a little more in addition to the Bible. Sudeikis' Jesus also mocks Tebow's passing skills.

As Robertson was weighing in on that performance, Fox News Channel analyst Bob Beckel
was also blasting the NBC show.

“First of all, it’s despicable to display Jesus Christ, our Lord and savior, like that on ‘Saturday Night Live’ and they should be ashamed of themselves,” Beckel said. “And the fact that this keeps drawing attention to Tebow and Christianity and faith and Jesus and they make it into some sort of a commercial operation ... there’s nothing funny about that.”

I agree with Pat. I’m so used to Christianity taking in the teeth. But, Jesus himself warned that it was going to happen, so I’m prepared to deal with it. Nonetheless, it’s still hurtful for people of faith. Again, I’m still waiting for the Muslim jokes.
